RUMFORD — Four New York residents were arrested  Saturday following two separate vehicle stops, police said.

Around 9:12 a.m., Sgt. James Bernard stopped a vehicle on Hancock Street for excessive speed. He spoke to the driver and smelled a strong odor of marijuana, Rumford Police Chief Stacey Carter said in a news release.

Arrested were Diamonds M. Cain-Henry, 24, Shaquanna E. Crumpler, 22, and Mario Cain-Henry, 23, all of Rochester, N.Y. They were charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs. Cain-Henry was also charged with refusing to submit to arrest or detention.

More than 2½ pounds of marijuana were seized. The investigation is ongoing.

Bail was set at $6,000 cash and all three were transported to the Oxford County Jail in Paris.

Police also arrested Yemaly Triana, 21, of Rochester, N.Y., who was traveling in another vehicle, according to the release. She was wanted on a warrant out of New York and was also charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana. She also was transported to the Oxford County Jail.

The four are expected in court on May 9.
