UPDATE: News of Worumbo Mill’s demolition evokes sadness, resignation
Lisbon’s Worumbo Mill is scheduled for demolition this summer.
According to the Times Record, Miller Industries, owner of the vacant mill, confirms there are plans to tear it down.
The demolition of the historic mill at Route 196 and Canal Street was announced by Positive Change Lisbon on its Facebook page. “It is with mixed emotions that we share that the Worumbo Mill is scheduled for demolition this summer,” is how the post started.
It went on to recognize the work that Miller Industries has done to try to sell the mill to developers.
