ST. ALBANS — Police have charged a St. Albans man with the fatal shooting of his uncle.

Police say they arrested 24-year-old Jeremy Erving at about 2 p.m. on Friday. He is charged in connection with the death of 53-year-old Randy Erving.

Jeremy Erving was arrested after police questioned him. Police responded to Randy Erving’s home and found his body earlier on Friday.

Jeremy Erving is expected to make his first court appearance early next week. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Police responded to the home just before 9 a.m. The home is located a couple of miles northwest of Indian Pond in the Somerset County town of about 2,000 people.
