AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston will host a free pickleball clinic from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, in its gymnasium.

The event is open to all players ages 14 and up. All equipment is provided.

Pickleball is a low-impact sport that combines the fundamentals of ping-pong, tennis and badminton for a fast-paced cardio activity for all ages. Players compete individually or in pairs using paddles and a wiffle ball.

Paul Amnott, retired Lewiston High School athletic director, will provide instruction in proper grip, serving, “dinking,” scoring, ready position and strategy.

Participants are invited to stay for gameplay immediately following the clinic.

Pickleball is offered at the YMCA every Friday from noon to 2 p.m., and from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays and Wednesdays.
