1941 – 2016
AUBURN — Patricia E. Chabot, 74, formerly of Blake Street Towers, Apt. 2A, and a resident of d’Youville Pavilion since December, died Tuesday, April 26, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn.
Born in Norwich, Conn., on July 10, 1941, she was the daughter of William and Marie Castagna Downing. Educated in Connecticut schools, she raised her family and worked in Connecticut for many years, moving to Maine in 2009 to be close to her daughter, Patty.
She enjoyed knitting, had a large doll collection and volunteered as a senior companion.
Survivors include four sons, David and wife, Cindy Baker, of Jacksonville, Fla., Lyle and wife, Terry Baker, of Portsmouth, Va., Wesslay Baker of Lexington, Tenn., and Wayne Baker of Baltic, Conn.; two daughters, Linda Harnage of Mooresdurg, Tenn., and Patty and husband, Michael Neff, of Lewiston; two brothers, Tony and wife, Terry Downing, of Moosup, Conn., and Michael and wife, Nancy Downing, of Norwich, Conn.; a sister, Angela Galup of Norwich, Conn.; 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Chabot, who passed away in 1991.
