1924 – 2016

LEWISTON — Alfreda G. Paradis, 91, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, passed away Friday, April 22, at d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Lewiston on July 2, 1924, she was the daughter of Adelard and Marianne (Chagnon) Paradis. She attended Lewiston schools and was employed at Gould & Scammon in Auburn, followed by a number of years at Mar-Vac Photo in Lewiston.

Our Aunt Freda was a gentle, thoughtful and unassuming woman who enjoyed spending time with her close friends and family, which included many nieces and nephews.

Freda, a longtime resident of Meadowview, spent much of her life caring for her aging parents. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend, and very much enjoyed spending time with her family at barbecues, reunions and trips to places such as Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park and Acadia National Park.

She is survived by one sister, Georgette and husband, John C. Sweat, of Stuart, Fla.; and one brother, Gerard Paradis of Cocoa, Fla.

Besides her parents, Adelard and Marianne Paradis, she was predeceased by her sisters, Jeannette Bonenfant and Laurette Paradis; brothers, baby Marcel Paradis, Wilfrid Paradis, Paul Paradis and Robert Paradis.
