AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston has announced its May programs for children and adults. All programs take place at 62 Turner St. with the exception of gymnastics, which meets at the Lewiston Armory.

Mother’s Day Ride: 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Sunday, May 8. Mothers and grandmothers may attend a special Group Cycle class. Coffee and muffins will be served after class, and participants will be entered to win a Mother’s Day basket. The class is free for members and costs $5 for nonmembers.

Watercolor Art Class: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14. Local artist Debra Trafton will teach watercoloring to those ages 7 and older. All supplies are provided. Admission costs $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

Summer Camps: June 20 to Aug. 19. Registration is now open for Camp Connor (grades one to eight), Teen Leadership Camp (grades nine and 10) and Y Kids Camp (grades kindergarten to five). Families can sign up by the week. Prices vary by camp; financial assistance is available to qualifying households.

Weigh to Go: By popular demand, the YMCA added another session of the national weight-loss program. Classes meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 3 to June 21.

Walk Your Trail Off!: Mondays and Wednesdays until June 1. Participants will put miles on their pedometers with a group of like-minded walkers. Participants receive a pedometer, T-shirt and water bottle. Admission costs $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers.

Gymnastics: May 3 to June 23 at Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave., Lewiston. The course is for youth ages 3½ through teens. Fees range by age group from $34 to $53. Financial assistance is available to qualifying households.

Twin Cities Swim Team: May 10 to July 19. This is a competitive program for children ages 5 to 18. Fees vary by group.

Lunch & Learn: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10. “Eating Better on a Budget” with Healthy Androscoggin. Registration costs $5 and includes lunch. 

Group Power Launch: Begins Tuesday, May 10. Participants may unleash their inner warrior with the latest Group Power program release. Class times are available online. Group classes are free to members and $8 for adults on a drop-in basis.

Preregistration is required for most events and programs.
