LEWISTON — A pair of men were arrested Friday and charged with robbing a CVS pharmacy on Sabattus Street two days earlier.

Acting on a tip Friday, local, state and federal agents went to a Winthrop motel where they arrested a Monmouth man in connection with the stickup, police said.

Captured at the Cobbossee Motel was Troy Severance, 36, who was charged with robbery.

Later Friday, agents tracked down Dakota Madore, 18, also of Monmouth, on Route 126 in Wales. He also was charged with robbery.

Investigators said that shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, a lone man went into CVS wearing sunglasses, a skeleton mask over his face and a hood over his head.

“The male then walked directly to the pharmacy,” according to a Lewiston police news release, “and showed the pharmacist a note demanding OxyContin and stated that he didn’t want to shoot anybody, but no weapon was displayed.”

The pharmacist turned over an undisclosed amount of the drug before the suspect fled on foot, police said. They did not specify whether they believe it was Madore or Severance who went into CVS to commit the robbery.

Both men remained at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn on Friday night. Madore was being held on $5,000 cash bail. Bail for Severance was set at $560 cash or $10,000 surety.

Police said both men are being investigated in connection with a separate pharmacy robbery in another county.
