FARMINGTON — Nursing leaders and peers recognized five Franklin Memorial Hospital nurses recently by nominating them for the organization’s fifth annual Excellence in Nursing Award.
The award was established to recognize contributions by FMH nurses who support the advancement of nursing.
Nominees included: Mary Cyr, wound care; Valerie Farrington, Intensive Care Unit; April Smith, Medical/Surgical Unit; Annette Tripp, maternal and child health; and Tammy White, day surgery.
Tripp was named the recipient. She was also cited for taking pride in her work and being the well-rounded pearl of nursing — a steady, kind and compassionate nurse.
Special recognition was also given to Scott Foster, director of environmental services and food and nutrition. He was declared honorary nurse for the immeasurable support he and his staff have given to nursing staff.
