LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women will host a yoga class for beginners starting Monday, May 23.

This class is for beginners only or those who have never done yoga before.

The first class will discuss relaxation, and nonstrenuous, low-intensity activity can be done from a chair. Instructor Judi Look will cover the basics of yoga practice and mainly focus on what yoga is, how to stretch properly and explain how women can also practice at home.

Look began her yoga journey by attending a free yoga class at the Auburn Public Library. She has explored Vinyasa, Yin, Iyengar, restorative yoga, meditation and breath work. She has completed close to 200 hours of yoga teacher training with the Boston Yoga School through Freeport Yoga Co. LLC in Freeport. She has studied the history of yoga, Yoga-Sutra, yoga as therapy, anatomy and sequencing of poses. 

The class will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every other Monday at 97 Blake St. Participants should register. There is no charge to attend.
