Reducing food waste workshop
AUBURN — The Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments is holding a workshop to discuss the possibilities for reducing food waste from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at 125 Manley Road.
Reducing the amount of wasted food will require involvement from all sectors of the economy. Homeowners, government, restaurants, farmers and other institutions that generate food scraps can all help.
There will be a tour of We Compost It in Auburn immediately after the workshop.
Cost is $10. Registration is required.

Veteran exhibit in Wayne
WAYNE — An exhibit of photos and memorabilia, Those Who Served — A Salute to All Wayne Veterans, will take place at the Cary Library’s Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.
Visitors may see the exhibit from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 28; from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, May 30, following the Wayne Memorial Day parade; 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 1; and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4.
Plant sale at wildlife park
GRAY — The Friends of the Maine Wildlife Park will host its annual plant sale from Saturday, May 28, to Monday, May 30.
The sale will include annual flowers, vegetables and hanging and potted plants.
The sale will take place in the parking lot on Saturday and Sunday, so shoppers will not be required to pay an admission fee. The sale will take place inside the park on Monday.

Blood drive at Wildlife Park
GRAY — An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Maine Wildlife Park.
