Volunteers to post grave flags

LEWISTON — The City of Lewiston is seeking volunteers who might be able to assist with the placement of flags at veterans gravestones in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Volunteers should meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 81 Mt. Hope Ave.

NASA programming including ‘black holes’

AUBURN — John Wallace will present “Black Holes, Neutron Stars, and Magnetars” at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

The program is part of the library’s NASA programming “From Our Town to Out of Space.”

Attendees will learn what black holes are and how they work; that a teaspoon of material from a neutron star weighs millions of tons; and that scientists recently discovered gravity waves.

This family program is free.

United New Auburn Association meeting

AUBURN — The United New Auburn Association will hold a meeting for all Auburn residents at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Rolly’s Diner. 

There will be two drawings for gift certificates.
