New Gloucester plans parade

NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester Memorial Day parade will be on Monday, May 30.

The parade lineup will meet at 7:30 a.m. at New Gloucester Elementary School. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. Participants will march to Veterans Park for a service and continue to the Lunn-Hunnewell AMVETS Post No. 6 to disband.

All veterans/color guard groups that can march or ride in a vehicle may attend, along with community groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church groups and vintage vehicles.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on May 23 were, first place, Richard Balian and Paul Sherman; second, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; third, Tom Goodwin and Tom Dahlberg; fourth/fifth tie, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock with Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; and, first in C, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; second, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin.

Winners on May 24 were, first, Hazel Glazier and Pete Cummings; second, Jan and Vern Arey; third, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; and fourth, Pat Garcia and David Lock.

Games are played at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all social bridge players are welcomed.

Bridge will not be played on Monday, May 30, due to Memorial Day.
