Bangor Savings Bank is reissuing customer debit cards because information has been compromised at local and national retailers, according to Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer Andrew Grover.

“Potentially affected customers have been informed about the compromise,” Grover said in a prepared statement. “Our customers’ financial security is of utmost importance and it is our practice to be abundantly cautious.”

The only information compromised was the debit card information, Grover said. If you do not receive a new debit card, no action is required.

All Bangor Saving Bank customers receive free FraudWatch PLUS protection, a standard feature on all debit cards. This service provides 24/7 fraud monitoring protection.
