1936 – 2016
AUBURN — Paul F. Brownell, 79, a resident of Lewiston, died Thursday, June 2, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born in Watertown, N.Y., on Aug. 11, 1936, the son of Fayette Haven Brownell and Mary Therese Dickson Brownell. Paul was educated in Wales schools and attended Lewiston High School.
Paul enjoyed farming and in 1968, he went to work at Northern Maine Bird’s Eye frozen food plant. He was also a carpenter, working in Maine and Florida. He worked for the Lewiston Sun Journal in the mailroom, retiring in 1989. Paul was a member of the Maine Army National Guard, serving from 1960 to 1963.
Paul is survived by one brother, Kenneth Brownell and his companion, Virginia Cram, of Lake Helen, Fla.; and his sister, Mary Wall and her husband, Donald, of Potsdam, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Phillip Brownell.
