Trees are now avaialble to Orono residents at no cost. The Tree Board will assist the property owner in planting of the trees. The trees must be planted in the public domain (i.e. on land along the streets owned and maintained by the town) and are available on a first come, first served basis.
Residents interested in having trees planted in front of their homes should call the Town Office and leave their name, address and telephone number. All tree sites will have to be assessed by the Tree Board to assure adequate space and no overhead wires. Residents will be called by a Tree Board member to discuss the requirements, the type of trees available and best type suited for the site.
