LEWISTON — Dr. Peter Drews, who practices dentistry at and owns Drews Dental Services in Lewiston, was elected president of the Maine Dental Association’s executive board on June 11.
Drews is a Michigan native and received an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. He worked in the automotive industry for four years before going on to obtain a doctoral degree in dentistry from the University of Michigan.
He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Chicago, San Diego and Bahrain, in addition to being a “dental doc” on the USS Rushmore. He always planned to own his own business, so when he left the Navy in 2008 he purchased a practice in Lewiston.
He is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and past president of the Androscoggin Valley Dental Society.
