Auburn holiday trash, recycling
AUBURN — There will be no waste or recycling collection on Monday, July 4.
Normal trash collection will resume Monday, July 11. Recycling normally scheduled for the first and third Mondays will resume on July 18.
Waste and recyclables to may be brought to MMWAC between 7 a.m. and noon Monday to Friday at on Goldthwaite Road. MMWAC will be closed on July 4.

Lewiston holiday trash, recycling
LEWISTON — The City of Lewiston has announced that trash and recyclables will be picked up one day later throughout the entire week, with Friday’s curbside trash to be picked up on Saturday, July 9.
REPAIR barbecue July 9
AUBURN — The Lewiston/Auburn REPAIR (returning, ex-prisoners, aid, information, reintegration) will hold its fifth annual barbecue from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 78 Pleasant St.
The barbecue is for adults only.

Craft day for Coats for Kids
LEWISTON — Knights of Columbus Council 106 will sponsor a paper crafting and scrap book day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Holy Family Church Hall, Sabattus St.
The event will be hosted by Corinne Saindon. There will be snacks, drawing and two make-and-takes.
Admission to the event is $35, which includes lunch. The proceeds will benefit Coats for Kids. Those who bring a pair of mittens, a scarf or a hat will get a ticket for a special drawing.
Reservations are required by Friday, Aug. 10, by mailing a check payable to KC 106 to James Sutton, P.O. Box 1622, Lewiston, ME 04241-1622.
Pantry seeks book donations
AUBURN — The High Street Food Pantry is seeking donations of children’s books.
Donations may be brought to the Auburn United Methodist Church, at 439 Park Ave.

Bridge Club lists winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the New England-wide Sectional Tournament on June 27 were, first, Jan and Vern Arey; second and first in B, Dick Allen and Richard Balian; third and second in B, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third in B and first in C, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; second in C, Ellie and George Wigton. Ninety-two tables were played in New England with Jan and Vern Arey placing fifth.
Winners of the New England-wide STAC game on June 28 were, first, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; second and first in B, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; third and second in B, Richard Balian and Paul Clement; fourth, Pat Garcia and David Lock. Luke and Mike placed third overall in New England.
Games are played at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcomed.
No games will be played Monday, July 4.
