Sunday’s news shows’ participants exclaim that the problems with mass killings is a lack of gun controls or inadequate background checks and follow-up.
It seems impossible for the FBI and the CIA to psychoanalyze every terrorist and nut job in the world. A watch list is a great idea, with a reasonable time period before the purchase of a weapon is finalized.
Assault weapons were manufactured to kill people. They belong in the hands of the military and police, not anyone who can get their hands on one. The Second Amendment will not be compromised in the least.
The leader of the National Rifle Association says the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. We know many very good people who do not want to carry a gun, let alone use one. We pay taxes to fund law enforcement for that purpose.
The NRA defending the right of people to own assault weapons is asinine. It is akin to having the American Medical Association saying cancer doesn’t kill people.
This is a no-brainer. Get rid of assault weapons, now.
