Wicked Wednesdays in Poland

POLAND — The Poland Spring Preservation Society will continue hosting Wicked Wednesdays.

Lenny Brooks from Sabbathday Shaker Village in New Gloucester will be present “The Shakers and the Rickers of Poland Spring: A Scrapbook History” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the All Souls Chapel, 37 Preservation Way. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The talk will illustrate the story of an association that began in the 1700s and continues today — the association is between America’s longest lived religious communal society and one of this country’s most noted entrepreneurial families. The individuals involved are as fascinating as the events engendered by the friendship.

A $6 donation at the door will be split between both nonprofits, Poland Spring Preservation Society and Sabbathday Shaker Village.
