Marcia and Louis Brown Scholarship

LIVERMORE FALLS — Jay, Livermore Falls and Spruce Mountain High School graduates who are enrolled in a two- or four-year college or vocational program may apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships offered by the late Marcia and Louis Brown.

College students must have successfully completed at least one semester of college or vocational school to be eligible to apply.

The deadline for applications is Friday, July 29. Applications may be picked up at the Regional School Unit 73 Central Office at 9 Cedar St. during business hours Monday through Friday.

Sale donations, weeding coaches needed

FARMINGTON — Life Enrichment Advancing People is holding its annual benefit yard sale on Saturday, July 23. It is accepting clean donations for the event.

Proceeds from the yard sale support SSG, LEAP’s Franchetti Recreation Fund and employee scholarships.

Those who wish to donate items may arrange a pickup, and valuable donations could be eligible for a tax donation letter.

LEAP is also seeking “weeding coaches” to assist about a dozen youths from the Upward Bound program who will be at Stone Soup Gardens Friday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. to help weed the gardens. Coaches will lead teams of two or three youths in specific areas of the garden. There will also be members of LEAP in attendance.

Cooperative Minecrafting at Paris Library

PARIS — Minecraft enthusiasts can bring their devices and Minecraft account to Minecraft Day at the Paris Public Library. 

Cooperative Minecrafting will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 26.
