CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Carrabassett Valley Public Library is inviting the public to “pig out on reading” with a visit from Farmer Minor and Daisy the pig at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4.
Special guests will include Minor’s pugs.
He will bring plenty of books to look at and there will be an opportunity to get a picture taken with Daisy. Attendees are encouraged to wear overalls.
They will hear from Minor about Daisy’s formative years, share Daisy noises, give her a treat, talk about her pampered life and how Daisy I and II became such famous pigs.
Based on the age and number of children, Minor selects a book the children can help read to Daisy. With older children, he tells a story of one of Daisy’s favorite books.
At the end of the program, following the Daisy pledge, all are able to pet Daisy. Smooches are allowed and encouraged.
