1935 – 2016

AUBURN — Laurier V. Roy, 81, of 540 Lincoln St., Lewiston, died Saturday, July 30, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn surrounded by his family.

Born in St. Quentin, N.B., Canada, he was the son of Joseph W. and Yvonne Lepage Roy. Educated in Canadian schools, he moved to the local area as a young man where he worked at the Hill Mill, but will be best remembered for his foundation contracting as the owner of L & A Concrete.

A member of the former St. Mary’s Church and a communicant of Holy Cross Church, he was a 4th Degree Knight of the Lisbon Knights of Columbus, Council 4049, and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting, bagging his last moose in his late 70s.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel and wife, Angela, of Monmouth and David of Lisbon; two daughters, Rachel Roy of Plymouth, N.H. and Diane Roy of Milford, N.H.; a stepdaughter, Sherri and husband, Matthew Jordan, of Turner; four brothers, Laurent and wife, Jeannine, of Lewiston, Gaston and wife, Ghislaine, of St. Quentin, N.B., Canada, Normand and wife, Lorraine, of Auburn, and Wilfrid and wife, Lisette, of Quebec City, P.Q., Canada; brother-in-law, Norman Leblanc of Lewiston; three sisters, Muguette Hardee of Jacksonville, Fla., Giselle Savoie of Bouctouche, N.B., Canada, and Lorraine and husband, Robert Padmos, of North Kingstown, R.I.; sister-in-law, Claire of Quebec; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jeannine LeBlanc; a brother, Alain; and his longtime companion, Laura Morris. Donations, condolences and a video tribute may be found online at www.albert-burpee.com.
