, of Greene, died Thursday, July 28, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born Jan. 11, 1927, in Nashua, N.H., she was the daughter of William H. and Dora (McLaughlin) Barry. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1943 and in 1948 married Stanley M. Shostak, also of Nashua, who survives her. They moved to Lewiston in 1966 and to Greene in 1986. Theresa worked at Bates College for 20 years, retiring as manager of print, mail and secretarial services. She was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

Theresa loved children, and was an attentive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. An avid reader and gardener, she took especial joy in the garden of vibrant ornamentals she tended in her front yard. She was also proud of her many accomplishments as a talented knitter, hand weaver and quilter, having been a member of Pine Tree Quilters and the Maine Guild of Spinners and Weavers.

 In addition to her loving husband of 67 years, Theresa is survived by her sister, Dorothy Duprey of Summit, N.J.; her children, Dorothy of Vancouver, Canada, Elizabeth and husband, Donald Drisdell, of Cambridge, Mass., Ann Woodhead and husband, William, of Auburn, Peter of Manchester, N.H., Martin of Greene, Michael of Minot, Walter and wife, Elisa, of Seattle, Wash., Mary Ohring of New Fairfield, Conn., Matthew and wife, Paula, of Austin, Texas, and Anthony and wife, Crystal Nicholas, of Greene; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Theresa was predeceased by her parents; brothers, William, Walter, and John; sister, Mary McLaughlin; son-in-law, Peter Ohring; and daughter-in-law, Linda Shostak.
