1934 – 2016

AUBURN — Yvette T. Chalifoux, 82, of 751 Washington St., Auburn, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Sarah Frye Home in Auburn following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Laurent and Emma (Goulet) Chabot and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She attended Holy Cross School and was a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School.

She married Roland Chalifoux Sr. on Oct. 4, 1958; he died Sept. 6, 2001.

Yvette was a housewife, mother and worked as a stenographer at the State House in the early 1990s.

She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Cross Church.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Roland Chalifoux Jr. and Maurice Chalifoux; and two grandchildren, Roxanne and Julian.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Julien Chabot, who died Jan. 18, 1979, and Norman Chabot, who died March 1, 2010.
