Optimists sharing Constitutions with students

AUBURN — In conjunction with Constitution Day on Sept. 17, the Optimist Clubs of Lewiston/Auburn, Gray/New Gloucester and the Tri Town Optimist Club of Minot, Poland, and Mechanic Falls are making available to any interested schools or students free pocket-sized Constitutions that can be used in the classroom.

Quantities are limited and will be given on a first come first served basis.

SeniorsPlus Around Town nutrition program

LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus announced that local restaurants are joining the Around Town nutrition program, giving older adults and adults with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy meals out at a discounted price.

The complete list of restaurants participating in the Around Town program of SeniorsPlus is available online.

SeniorsPlus will host an open house and information session about the new program in October.

Pine Tree appoints Board members

AUBURN — Pine Tree Society, a statewide organization serving Maine children and adults with disabilities, recently named Martin Bailey, Ian McCarthy, Matthew Prunier and Carol Brunjes Weaver to its board of directors.

Bailey is a Personal Financial Representative at Allstate in Lewiston while McCarthy, of Key Bank, is the Area Retail Leader for Central Western Maine. Prunier is a CPA with Baker Newman Noyes in Portland and Weaver teaches Mathematics at Milford High School in Milford, New Hampshire.
