AUBURN — Madison Leslie, a 16-year-old junior at St. Dominic Academy, recently represented Maine in the 12th annual Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant in Orlando, Florida. Leslie collected scholarships in the national pageant for her vocal performance of Andra Day’s inspirational pop-ballad “Rise Up” — a $500 in scholarship by winning a Top Vocalist Award and a $500 Non-Finalist Talent Award for her performance. She finished the competition with a total of $2,000 in scholarship prizes.

Leslie qualified to compete for this pageant after winning the title of Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen in April 2016. As a national-level lacrosse player from Auburn, she decided to compete in the April competition for the scholarship and performance opportunities. Since winning the state title, she has been working with Ninth Tone Voice Studios of Auburn to perfect her talent performance. Madison is the daughter of Rit and Tara Leslie.

Leslie will continue her year of service as Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen by performing throughout the state. She also hopes to spread awareness of her platform, No Teammate Left Behind, and promote the Miss Maine Scholarship Program to young women.
