DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have two sports questions. The first question is about the NFL Countdown on ESPN on Sundays. They used to have Cris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson, Mike Ditka and Tom Jackson. Chris Berman is still the host but what happened to them all? Did they all get fired or quit together? My second question is, Jerry Remy, one of the announcers for the Red Sox, isn’t on so much now. Does he pick the games he wants to do? Mostly home games I think. — Pam, Peru.

ANSWER: When ESPN decided to shake up the segment last year, the new team did not include Cris Carter, according to the New York Daily News.  Keyshawn Johnson’s contract expired and was not renewed. Mike Ditka still serves an emeritus role at ESPN and has already appeared as a guest on Monday Night Countdown with Chris Berman. Tom Jackson retired after 29 years as a broadcaster.

The changes to the Red Sox analyst lineup is due to a new NESN schedule. Jerry Remy’s agreement was renewed, according to a NESN report from October 2015, and he will work at least 100 Red Sox games per season.
