NEWRY — The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday night approved several liquor licenses, selected a Maine Municipal Association delegate and planned a public hearing on the Oxford County Regional Recycling referendum.

A new liquor license was unanimously approved for Origins LLC, doing business as Bluebird, at 23 Sunday River Road. A public hearing was held on the issue but no one attended.

Renewals of liquor licenses were also unanimously approved for The Barking Dawg Market at 119 Skiway Road and the Matterhorn Ski Bar at 292 Sunday River Road.

In other business, selectmen approved Town Administrator Amy Bernard as their delegate to attend the Maine Municipal Association conference Oct. 5 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

The outcome of the vote will determine whether the town continues its agreement with the corporation or terminates it and dissolves the corporation.
