The Ark lists upcoming classes
LEWISTON — The Ark, 791 Lisbon St., has announced two free upcoming classes.
Canning & Freezing with Jack: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4. Attendees will learn about water bath canning and storing their garden vegetables for winter.
Plant Powered Thanksgiving Feast: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25. Nutritionist Cheryl Farley is instructor. To register, call 603-759-1994.
UMaine Cooperative Extension offering fall food tips
ORONO — University of Maine Cooperative Extension has published bullets online to help Mainers find, grow, use, preserve and store in-season fruits and vegetables.
Additions for October include “Let’s Preserve: Apples,” “Vegetables and Fruits for Health: Potatoes,” and “Safe Home Cider Making.”

Ski museum in history tour
KINGFIELD — The Ski Museum of Maine has joined the list of nonprofits participating in the Franklin County History Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.
