Churches offering animal blessings

LEWISTON — Animal lovers are invited to have their companions blessed outdoors in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

The blessing will be offered at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, on the front lawn of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash St.

First Universalist announces October worship schedule

PARIS — Marilyn Hammond will lead off the October schedule of the First Universalist Church on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Silver-Moore Leamon will be the guest speaker Oct. 9; Anita White, Oct. 16; Silver Moore-Leamon, Oct. 23; and Music Sunday with Marilyn Hammond and Sharon Bouchard facilitation on Oct. 30.

The church is at 36 Pine St.

All services start at 10 a.m. and are followed by coffee and fellowship. The church is wheelchair-accessible and welcomes and celebrates all beliefs.
