AUBURN — Maine Oxy will host a Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, Oct. 7, when it will officially open the doors to its flagship retail location at the newly renovated “Winter Building” at 100 Washington St. North.
Tours, giveaways and more will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1:35 p.m.
The historic building was originally built in 1908 and housed the Union Box & Lumber Co. In 1943, businessman Frank Winter established Auburn’s Vocational/Trade School in the building, later becoming the Winter Scientific Institute. Maine Oxy bought the building in 2011 and finished renovations earlier this year.
“We are excited to show off this beautiful building and showcase all the hard work that went into preserving its historic character,” said Dan Guerin, president of Maine Oxy.
