NORWAY — New U.S. and state of Maine flags were presented to Guy E. Rowe School in a ceremony on Sept. 28.

Sharon Hale, commander of Stone-Smart American Legion Post No. 82 of Norway and Ruth Gurney of the American Legion Post No. 82 Auxiliary presents students and Principal Daniel Hart with 10 new classroom flags, and a new American flag and state flag for the school flagpole.

As the flags were raised on the pole, 50 students, 12 staff and parent volunteers saluted and Hale led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Student representatives from each grade were: prekindergarten, Madeline Bean, Robert Marshall, Aribella Kaheri and Levi Theberge; kindergarten, Victoria Sessions, Conner Loveless, Bella Shelton, Brayden Perry, Chloe Wing, Emmett Harthorne, Athena Turner and Grady Cadman; first grade, Kenslee Philbrook, Connor Giasson, Cameron Meserve, Cody Britton, Shyanne McAllister and Ryan St. Peter; second grade, Ayla Wigton, Aiden West, Riley Pulkkinen, Evan McAlister, Jonicah Bowden and Gryphen Hodsdon; third grade, Madeline Poland, Carter Cox, Kaylin Philbrook, Riley Perry, Elizabeth Hussey and Dakota Cireillo; fourth grade, Mollee Akers, Chase Edmunds, Sierra Powell, Xian Tripp, Ally Theriault and Balian L’Heureux; fifth grade, Ares Heath, Evan Hamm, Kate Belanger, Slade Meserve, Sarah Johnson and Lucas Brett; and sixth grade, Allegra Meagher, Kole Tripp, Isabelle Knightly, David Marshall, Juliese Padgett, Bryce Atkisson, Winter Rainey-White and Damion Davis.
