NORWAY — Western Maine Health volunteers were recognized for their dedication and commitment at the annual volunteer luncheon in the Harper Conference Center on Oct. 7.
Timothy A. Churchill, president and CEO of Western Maine Health, thanked the volunteers for their work and recognized their commitment and the overall benefit they provide at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
There are approximately 60 volunteers in the Stephens Volunteer Services department, ranging in age from 16 to the mid-80s.
In the past year, volunteers have provided over 14,000 hours of service to promote the health and comfort of patients and visitors at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Volunteers provide a wide range of services including patient greeters, chaplains, thrift shop, music therapy, pet therapy, patient escorts, Mended Hearts and clerical support in the Birthplace, oncology, human resources, quality and safety, patient advisors at the practices, laundry and food and nutrition services.
More than 35 volunteers attended the luncheon.
