Outlook: After an injury-riddled 2015-16 season, Morong and his staff loaded the cupboard for this season with 17 players. Harriman, a former Edward Little star who will start in the backcourt, her former EL teammate Reynolds, a versatile shutdown defender, and Lewiston’s Blais, who will see major minutes off the bench. Hamblin, from Spruce Mountain, will run the point with Rangeley’s Deraps also serving as a key contributor in the backcourt. They hope to get full, healthy seasons from Rangeley’s Esty and Schlimto  bolster the frontcourt. The list of newcomers also features the program’s first international students — Australian Lester and Harrington from the United Kingdom. With so much depth and versatility available, Morong has pledged to return to the up-tempo, pressing style the Mustangs have been known for, and expects the Mustangs to vie for a spot in the national USCAA tournament.

Coach’s comment: “This is probably the deepest team we’ve ever had here, and also one of the smartest. We have so many versatile women that it actually makes it extremely difficult for the coaching staff to find lineups — a great problem to have.”
