In the wake of the Lewiston Housing Task Force’s recent report outlining the city’s housing problems, the City Council will host a joint session Tuesday with the Lewiston Housing Authority. “It’s kind of a historic meeting,” said City Administrator Robert Mulready. The council wants to encourage the authority to “be one of the lead agencies if not the lead agency” in assuring everyone here has “safe, decent housing.” The task force’s report, released in September after two years of study, found problems ranging from homelessness and near-homelessness to home buyers who are priced out of the local market.
