OCSWCD annual meeting, awards 

PARIS — Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District will hold its annual meeting, which will be open to the public, on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the First Congregational Church of Paris.

There will be a time for visiting at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m., awards, and entertainment.

The guest speaker will be Scott Vlaun of Center for an Ecology-Based Economy.

There will also be a ticket auction.

Reservations must be made by Friday, Nov. 25.

Santa coming to Mexico on Nov. 25

MEXICO — The holiday season in the River Valley will get underway Friday, Nov. 25, with the annual Santa Claus parade.

The event, sponsored by the Mexico Fireman’s Relief Association, will begin at 6 p.m. at 155 Congress St.

From there, the parade will stop briefly at the fire station, where Santa will light the Christmas tree.

The parade will then continue down most of Main Street, then double back to the fire station.

There, Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet the children in the town’s gazebo or inside the fire station, where children will tell Santa their Christmas wishes before being given a bag of candy.

JAY — Malinda Liberty and Cowboy Billy will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at AMVETS, 111 Main St.

There is no cover charge.

Daughters’ Christmas party Dec. 11

RUMFORD — The Daughters of Isabella will have its annual Christmas party at 49 Franklin following Mass on Sunday, Dec. 11.

Coffee will be served at 10:30 a.m., with a hot buffet lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Those who wish to attend should send a check by Nov. 27 for $21 to Debbie Dorr, 2 Diego Place, Rumford, ME 04276.

Chairpersons are Debbie Dorr and Lisa Doherty. Committee members are Ann White, Kaye Lawler and Theresa Vaillancourt.

No meeting is scheduled for December.

Son’s of Italy announce raffle winner

RUMFORD — The Son’s of Italy have announced that Pam Bulger is the winner of the Thanksgiving Raffle, a wheelbarrow of food, including a turkey.
