(Photo Caption) The Building Trades students of Stephens High School are quite proud of the new sign, which hangs by the entrance of their shop on Lowell Street. Noel Bellegarde, left, a senior at Stephens, designed and constructed the sign. Bellegarde was assisted by Dennis Cornish, right, also a senior, in designing, constructing and erecting the fancy iron bracket which holds the sign in its place. It is hoped by many, that with the construction of a new high school, it will no longer be necessary for the 50 students using this shop to walk so far to class. Each boy at the present time spends 20 minutes of valuable time walking to and from each class.

Crews have finished placing 3,850 gallons of crack sealer on Auburn roadways. The streets had more extensive cracking than when first inspected, so coverage did not include as many streets as first anticipated. Streets affected by the project include Center Street, Turner Street, Mount Auburn Avenue and Union Street By-Pass. The materials cost $15,220.

The material in Looking Back is reproduced exactly as it originally appeared, although misspellings and errors made at that time may be edited.
