Pet Photos with Santa

LEWISTON — Santa will be at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society for its annual Pet Photos with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at 55 Strawberry Ave.

There is no charge for the photo; however donations will be accepted.

CAC to hold open house

LEWISTON — Children’s Advocacy Center of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties will hold an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at 56 Lafayette St.

The center recently saw a major renovation.

“It started with a sheet rock contractor, who knew a furnace guy, who knew a flooring guy, and so on,” said Kat Perry, CAC coordinator. “We actually finished the project under budget. This would not have been possible without … a steadfast vision to create a sacred trauma-informed, child friendly, forensically sound space for the youngest victims of violence in our communities.”

Community Champion for Children Awards & Recognition Presentation will be held at 5:45 p.m.

Refreshments will be available.

Parkinson’s disease support group

AUBURN — A Parkinson’s disease support group will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of each month at Schooner Estates, 200 Stetson Road, in the Castine Living Room, behind the front desk

Danville Junction Grange to meet

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8.

Members should bring clipped coupons for the troops, as well as unwrapped toys, books, games or knit goods for the Salvation Army by 6:45 p.m. when someone will collect them. 

A Christmas program will be presented by lecturer Norma Meserve.

Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.

Blood drive planned in Winthrop

WINTHROP — An American Red Cross blood drive will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall, Route 133.

Qualifying donors will need to bring a form of identification.

Pine Cone Chapter EOS meeting

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

The Chapter will celebrate Christmas with exchanging cards, singing carols under the direction of Eleanor Peterson, district deputy grand matron No. 4, and bring in filled Christmas stockings for Auburn police officer Tom Poulin. 

The mascots for District 4, Jewel and Jay O, will be at the Chapter. 

There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. All Eastern Star members are welcome.
