JAY — Town officials are looking for two residents to serve as alternates on the Budget Committee, with one term expiring Dec. 31, 2017, and the other on Dec. 31, 2018.

Selectpersons appointed Tom Fortier, Beth Wright, William Rider, Michael Schaedler, William Calden and Bridgitte White to the Budget Committee on Monday. Their terms expire Dec. 31, 2017.

Also appointed were Darcie Calden, Kay Booker, Charles Riekert, Mike Ventrella and Ricky Merrill, whose terms expire Dec. 31, 2018.

A budget panel member had previously requested a tour of town facilities, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere said. The tours set up for 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, will be of the Sewer Department, Fire Rescue Department stations, and the Jay-Niles Memorial Library. Those taking the tours will meet at the North Jay Treatment Plant at the end of Jerry Street, off Route 17.

At 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, members meet at the Transfer Station off Route 4/17 in North Jay to begin the scheduled tour and will move on to the Public Works Department, Town Office and the Police Department.
