RUMFORD – A 62-year-old local man was being examined at Rumford Hospital Thursday night after he was struck by a car near the corner of Lincoln and Waldo streets, police said.

Wilfred Buck of Rumford complained of shoulder pain after he was struck just before 5 p.m., investigators said.

Buck was crossing in a crosswalk when he was struck by a Toyota driven by 83-year-old Rita Thorne, also of Rumford, who was driving east on Lincoln Street, police said.

Thorne was not hurt.

Rumford police are investigating.
