‘The Third Gift’ at Paris Public Library

PARIS — Visitors can sample the scents of frankincense and myrrh at Paris Public Library’s Family Story Time at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.

“The Third Gift,” a story set in Biblical times, written by Linda Sue Park and illustrated by Bagram Ibatoulline, will be read.

This story is about how a young son helps his father with the craft of collecting “tears” from shrubs and trees. These tears are myrrh. The boy is lucky enough to find some amazing “tears” and sells them to the three wise men who are on their way to Bethlehem to honor the birth of the newborn King.

A simple Three Wise Men craft will follow.
