NORWAY — The Board of Selectmen voted Thursday evening to appoint West Paris resident Natalie Andrews as the town’s new assessor.
Andrews will replace Phinn Walker, who told the board in October that he was planning to leave his position.
“I look forward to having Natalie on board with us,” Town Manager David Holt told the selectmen. “She will work 40 hours a week for the town. It’s the first time that we’ve had a full-time assessor in quite a few years.”
Holt suggested to Andrews that she start working the first week of January, and that she connect with Walker so she can be familiar with his records.
In a letter of interest to the town, Andrews wrote that she serves on the West Paris Planning Board and the School Administrative District 17 board of directors.
She is also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Andrews wrote that she is taking a class in tax assessment and has experience within an office, including working on databases and management systems.
