Taxation, revaluation seminar

ANDOVER — A “Mystery of Taxation and Revaluation” seminar will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, downstairs at the Andover Town Hall.

The program will be facilitated by Vern Maxfield, Woodstock Town Manager, and John O’Donnell of O’Donnell Associates.

The snow date will be Saturday, Jan. 21.

Veggies performing at Jay AMVETS

JAY — AMVETS Post 33 will have music by the Veggies from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, on Main Street.

Contradance in West Farmington

FARMINGTON — A Contradance will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Farmington Grange, 124 Bridge St.

The Rogers Brothers will play with Kim and Cynthia calling.

Cost of admission will be $6 for adults, $5 for students, or $15 maximum for a family.

All dances are taught. Beginners are welcome, and a partner is not necessary.

Reiki for those impacted by cancer

NORWAY — Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine will offer free Reiki sessions to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers at the Reiki Clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Norway Town Office.

Reiki sessions are done in a chair and will last for 20 minutes. A reservation is required and may be made by noon on Saturday, Jan. 14. Any open slots after that date will be available to the general public.

Reiki is gentle touch that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, helps relieve pain and may help improve sleep. Reiki is not a substitute for any medical care or treatment.
