CPR, first aid class Feb. 18
OXFORD — There will be a Heartsaver CPR and First Aid class at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Advent Christian Church, Route 26.
Students will learn basic first aid, adult, child and infant CPR and how to use of an AED. On completion of the one-day class, they will received a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
This certificate course is accepted for day/child care providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-healthcare related professions.
Students should call to confirm the date before the class.
Groups may also request to schedule a class at their convenience. Healthcare BLS CPR re-certifications are done as needed one-on-one.

Herbs that help you adapt to stress
LEWISTON — The Ark & Olive Branch Cafe will host a winter herb class from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 791 Lisbon St.
Jane Kuntz, family and consulting herbalist, will present “Stress Less — Adaptogens,” which will discuss what herbs help bodies adapt to stress.

Free pain care seminars offered
MEXICO — Drs. Annie Gray, DPT, and Lauren Hebert, DPT, of SmartCare Physical Therapy will offer a series of public seminars on how to self-manage common pain problems.
These one-hour self-care discovery classes will address the newest approaches for long-term self-care for back pain and chronic headaches. A special class on how to slow and reverse the early stages of musculoskeletal aging will also be offered.
These classes will be free and open to the public.
Classes will begin 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Region 9 School of Applied Technology in Mexico.
Seating is limited, so people are encouraged to reserve space early.

Winter walking at Ingersoll Turf Facility
AUBURN — The Auburn Rec Department has announced that Ingersoll Turf Facility in Pettengill Park will be open to walkers seeking to avoid snow and ice and to exercise safely.
The facility will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The trail is a flat, rubberized surface in a climate-controlled environment. The rubberized surface is easier on joints.
The cost to use the facility is $1 each day.
