AUBURN — Skelton Taintor & Abbott shareholder Norman Rattey will be one of three presenters at the National Business Institute’s daylong program “Handling the Sale of a Business,” Friday, Feb. 10, at the Fireside Inn & Suites in Portland.
Rattey will present the sessions Structuring and Drafting the Purchase and Sale Agreement and Ethics in Business Acquisitions. In the first session he will discuss topics such as the goals of the purchaser and seller, negotiation of the purchase and sale agreement, representations and warranties, closing issues and post-closing issues. He will also review financing. In the second session, he will go over ethical issues such as conflicts of interest and confidentiality.
Rattey’s practice areas include a diverse range of transactional and litigation services. He represents buyers, sellers and lenders in commercial and residential real estate transactions. He also handles corporate and business matters, employment law and benefits, zoning and land use, municipal and government law and public finance law.
