AUBURN — Martha J. Bates, 71, of North Turner died on Friday, Feb. 3, at Bolster Heights in Auburn.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1945, the daughter of Charles and Fern (White) Greenwood.
Martha married Leslie Bates Jr. in 1961 and they are longtime residents of North Turner.
She worked for many years in childcare and then went on to work in banking.
Martha enjoyed talking on the telephone, dancing and being with her husband, Leslie.
She was a member of the C.B. Club and her handle was Scooby Doo.
Martha is survived by her beloved husband, Leslie; daughter, Dondi and husband, Jerry; sons, Sonny, Duane and wife Julie; grandchildren, Nick and finacée, Sam, Nathan and fiancée, Jody, Derek and girlfriend, Allie, and Abby and fiancé, Josh; step-grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler; future great-grandchild, Cali.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Margaret and Mabel; and by several aunts and uncles.
