Kids’ ice fishing derby
POLAND — Range Pond State Park will host a kids’ ice fishing derby from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at 26 State Park Road.
Admission to the derby will cost $1.50 for adults and youth ages 13 to 64; all others are free.
The first 500 children ages 12 and younger and first 100 Special Olympic entrants who register by 10 a.m. will receive a free ice fishing trap.
The water will be freshly stocked with trout. There will be a food truck and warming shelter.

History Barn open house
NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester History Barn open house is set from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 4, at 389 Intervale Road, Route 231.
It will feature recent acquisitions to the local collection. The event is free and open to the public.
Open Mic Sundays canceled
AUBURN — William J. Rogers Post 153, American Legion, has announced that Open Mic Sundays scheduled for the first Sunday afternoon of each month is canceled until further notice.
Pine Cone Chapter EOS to meet
AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
The Chapter members will elect officers for 2017-2018 and hear the annual reports from the secretary, treasurer and finance committee.
The meeting will be preceded by a pizza party at 6 p.m.
Blood drive planned in Winthrop
WINTHROP — The American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall on Route 133.
A form of identification will be required.

Sampson AFB Squadron to meet
LEWISTON — The Southern Maine Squadron of Sampson Air Force Base will meet at noon on Thursday, March 9, at the Governor’s Restaurant, 1185 Lisbon St.
This for the Veterans that went to Sampson AFB in New York for basic training in the 1950’s. Any veterans in the Korean War era are welcome attend.
Sampson was a Navel training base prior to Sampson AFB.

Danville Grange to meet
AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet Thursday, March 9, with a supper at 6 p.m. to observe CWA Night. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. The program will be presented by the Committee on Women’s Activities.
Members are reminded to bring clipped coupons for troops and donations for the Police Activities League.
All members and guests are invited to attend.
