RUMFORD — Jo-Ann Legere Lloyd, 88, of Rumford went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 22. She passed while at home with her children by her side.

She was born July 4, 1928, in Rumford. Jo-Ann was the oldest child of Albert and Osalie (Surette) Legere.

She graduated from Mount Merici Academy, Class of 1947, in Waterville.

On July 31, 1948, she married Leonard G. Lloyd of Rumford. They were married 48 years until his passing March 21, 1997.

She was employed by Ralph’s Store for 30 years.

Her life was her faith and family. Mom loved her camping trips to Baxter State Park and Cupsuptic Lake Campground with her children and their families and Christmas shopping trips with her four daughters to Portland for more than 30 years.

Jo-Ann enjoyed her Friday luncheons and weekend trips to the theater with the “Golden Girls” and friends.

She is survived by her six children and their families, Gayle Shurtleff and husband, Eddie, of Rumford and their sons, Shawn Shurtleff, and his children, Kerianne and Cameron, of Lewiston, Aaron Shurtleff and his wife, Jennifer, of Maryland, Bette Thibeault and husband, Bruce, of Mexico and their children, Melissa Pelletier, husband, Ed, and their children, Riley and Brock, of Mexico, and Brian Thibeault and his significant other, Holly Thompson-Feely, of Rumford, Alice McKenna and husband, Bernard, of Mexico and their daughter, Jodi McKenna, her significant other, Nathan Whitney and their children, Ashley Bailey, Alexander, Isabella and Benjamin Whitney, of Presque Isle, Leonard Lloyd Jr. and wife, Katharine, of Alexander and their children, Erik Lloyd and fiancée, Danielle Comeau, of Gray, Robyn Leighton and husband, Justin, and their daughter, Madyson, of Baileyville, Stephen Vose and wife, Anita, and their sons, Ethan and Aiden, of Augusta and Matthew Vose and his children, Brianna and Braden, of Brunswick, Kathleen Theriault and husband, David P., of Hartford and their children, Katie Hicks, husband, Dylan, and their son, Gunnar, of Sumner and Kevin Capponi and wife, Kayla, and their daughter, Kamber, of Rumford, Albert Lloyd of Rumford and sons, Mathew of Peru and Michael of Rumford; her sister, Gloria Downs and husband, Albert, of Dixfield; sisters-in-law, Barbara Burns of Mexico and Ruth Breau of Massachusetts.

Jo-Ann was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Lloyd Sr.; son-in-law, Timothy Capponi; sisters, Jacqueline Theriault-Chaisson and Lucille Don; and her parents, Albert and Osalie Legere.
