I am encouraged to see that people are standing up for their rights and letting their elected representatives know how they feel. People’s willingness to write letters, make calls, protest — to me, that is ideal patriotism.

If there will ever be universal medical insurance, universities for everyone and at least a living wage for all, then all people must, collectively, strive to convince their elected officials to work toward those goals.

I was very impressed by the letter from Victoria Cohen of Farmington (Feb. 3). In it, she wrote, “The power of the people is greater than the persons in Power.”
